What This Family Did Right Before Their Big Move (That Saved Their Sanity)
Let me set the scene: it’s mid-August. The sun is high, the kids are out of school, and a Vancouver family is preparing for a major move.
Mom’s trying to juggle remote work, Dad’s fielding real estate showings, and somewhere in the middle of it all there are two kids asking for snacks every 10 minutes, camp schedules to manage, and a house that just won’t pack itself.
Sound familiar?
That was the reality for one of our CLCO families this summer. They were excited about their new home in North Vancouver, but completely overwhelmed by the sheer volume of things to do. They were drowning in boxes, to-do lists, and the emotional weight that comes with leaving a family home behind.
They reached out for help and we jumped in.
Here’s what we did (and what we can do for you too):
We started with a full decluttering session to get their home ready for showings. This wasn’t about tossing everything, this was about thoughtfully editing their space so it looked open, calm, and inviting for potential buyers. We took care of donation drop-offs and packed away the “extras” like seasonal gear, old toys, and yes, the giant bin of Halloween costumes no one could part with just yet.
Next, we tackled the packing process in phases, breaking the house down room-by-room so it never felt too overwhelming. The kitchen got its own labeling system. The kids’ rooms had their own “essentials” boxes (and a few hidden surprises for when they landed in their new rooms). We even created a dedicated “Open First” bin with all the day-one must-haves: think toothbrushes, chargers, nightlights, coffee making supplies and some granola bars.
By move day? Everything was ready. No last-minute chaos, no forgotten soccer cleats, and no fights over which kid packed the crayons.
“We couldn’t have done this without your team,” the mom told us. “I would have been in tears without you. Actually, I was in tears until you showed up.”
That’s what Crescent Living Co. is here for. We know that moving is already emotional, especially when there are kids involved. You're trying to preserve their routine, make the move feel exciting, and not completely lose your mind in the process.
Our job? To take the pressure off your plate, so you can focus on what matters—your family, your memories, and the new adventure ahead.
